Background information of Dinesh Kashyap:
The Bastar constituency is dominated by Tribals and is a reserved SC consttuency. Kashyap is a tribal leader who started his political career as a member of the Madhya Pradesh state legislative assembly. An outspoken leader, he was one of the first BJP leaders to lay the blame for BJP’s loss in the 2009 general election squarely on L.K Advani’s PM candidature. One of his sons Tansen was shot dead by Maoists. Another son Kedar is a minister in the Chattisgarh government.
