A renowned lawyer, Arun Kumar was elected to the Lok Sabha in 2004. He was close to the Gandhi family because of his role as the ‘translator’ (interpreter) of Rajiv and Sonia Gandhi’s speeches into Telugu for their AP Public Meetings. He shot to fame after he started a legal battle against media baron Ramoji Rao’s company Margadarsi. He was also a close follower of YSR.
