Background information of Madhu Goud Yaskhi:
Goud was a US-based lawyer who ran a Legal Process Outsourcing (LPO) firm. He visited Yellareddy in Nizamabad district in 2004 to distribute relief (collected by Telugu NRIs) among families of farmers who committed suicide. Moved by the plight of farmers, he stayed back and joined the Congress. He got elected from Nizamabad constituency in 2004 and 2009. A staunch supporter of the separate Telangana cause, he is rather prone to controversies. YSR did not want to renominate him in 2009 but his close association with Rahul Gandhi has ensured his survival in Congress.
