Prof. Saugata Roy is 77 years old Loksabha MP, elected from Dum Dum of West Bengal state as a member of All India Trinamool Congress Party. Prof. Saugata Roy was born to Shri Debesh Chandra Roy & Smt. Anila Roy and is married to Smt. Dolly Roy
Background information of Prof. Saugata Roy:
Saugata Roy was in Congress but he left it along with Mamata Banerjee to form a regional outfit. After many clashes with the Congress, he and Mamata forged an alliance with the Congress and in 2009, he was rewarded as ministerial berth in Manmohan cabinet. He is a former Professor. Saugata’s elder brother Tathagata Roy is in BJP. He is president of West Bengal state unit of Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) since 2006.
