Background information of Rajagopal Lagadapati:
He is the second richest MP from Andhra with assests worth Rs122 crore. His family owns the Lanco Group, which is into real estate, infrastructure and power sector amongst other industry sectors. He is also the son-in-law of former Congress MP P Upendra. When YSR embarked on a padyatra in 2003, he was joined by Rajagopal. He officially joined Congress and won the Vijayawada seat in 2004, retained the seat in 2009 elections and has emerged as one of the strongest anti-Telangana voices in the State.
