Background information of Rajiv Ranjan (Lalan) Singh:
He was the General secretary of the Student Union at Bhagalpur University, and also participated in the JP movement. Rajiv Ranjan was until recently head of JD (U) Bihar unit citing serious differences with State Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. He has accused Kumar of functioning like a ‘dictator’ and was original petitioner against Laloo-Rabri on whose petition the Patna High Court in 1996 ordered a CBI probe.
