Background information of Dr. Mehboob Beg:
Son of Mirza Afzal Beg, the one time right hand man of Sheikh Abdullah. Born into a political family, Beg did his MBBS from Government Medical College Srinagar. He came into politics after the demise of his father and was elected for the state assembly in 1983 on a National Conference ticket.
